So, what is a major scale? Simply put, it is a series of musical notes that are arranged in a specific pattern of whole and half steps. The most common major scale is the one that starts on the note C, and consists of the following notes: C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C. This particular scale is known as the C major scale.
